After that the women cut the cake catching the hands of each other that showed a symbolic act of unity. "together, we can make a difference". Therefore, this gesture tells us something important about the day and signifies that a woman is an important part and parcel of God's creation. The letter 'W' in the picture stands and symbolises for women who are capable of creating “WONDERS” in a society. So, can we think of life without women in the society?

What is the root cause of celebration of International Women's Day?
International Women’s Day (IWD) originated from early 20th-century labor movements in North America and Europe, driven by women demanding better working conditions, fair pay, and voting rights. The root cause was the inequality, lack of political, economic, and social rights for women, with the first major march occurring in 1908 in New York, America.
01. The key historical causes:
Labor Movement Activism: In 1908, 15,000 women marched in NYC demanding shorter hours, better pay, and voting rights.
Clara Zetkin’s Proposal (1910): Activist Clara Zetkin proposed an international, annual women's day to advocate for rights at the Socialist International conference in Copenhagen.
First Celebration (1911): Following the 1910 proposal, the first IWD was observed in 1911 in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland.
Russian Revolution Link (1917): Women in Russia marched for "Bread and Peace" on March 8, 1917, which ultimately cemented the date of the celebration.
UN Recognition (1977): The United Nations officially adopted March 8, as International Women’s Day to celebrate women’s achievements and push for gender equality.

Women's Achievements: Recognizing women's contributions in the fields like science, politics, and arts.
Advancing Equality: Highlighting, women still hold about 64% of the legal rights that men hold worldwide, according to the UN Women.
