Scouting and Guiding Camp, 2026
Scouting and Guiding Camp was held at "Nirmal Nature Campsite " Tilamol, Quepem, Goa under the guidance of Trs. Felix Furtado, Palmira Rodrigues and Socie Dias. The scouts and guides of Our lady of Fatima High School Rivona, along with their Scout Master - Felix Furtado, Guide Captains - Palmira Rodrigues & Socie Dias and their assistant Valency Colaco, had their annual two days camp on 27th & 28th January 2026. Mr. James Fernandes, the proprietor of Nirmal Nature Campsite and the Secretary of Bharat Scouts and Guides Goa State, gave a warm welcome and some instructions on the usage of the campsite.
Altogether, 70 scouts and guides were distributed into 13 different patrols in this camp. After the allotment of tents to each patrol, they had a short campsite tour. The flag breaking ceremony was held and the camp was declared open by Guide captain Tr. Socie Dias and similarly declared close by Tr. Palmira Rodrigues. As per the camp routine, many activities and sessions were held for the scouts & guides like patrolwise sweet dish making competition, gadget making competition, individual drawing competition and inter-Patrol Quiz on scouting history.
Mr. Santos Silveira gave a session on mentalist and mind control. Sir Vijay Kumar, a Scoutmaster and Headmaster of Chandrabaga Tukoba Naik H/S, Curchorem gave a session on "Self Respect". Fr. Carson Dourado HM of our Lady of Piety School Collem and Fr. Richard Crasto, HM of Guardian Angel School Curchorem attended the campfire programme as special guests along with Tr. Flossie Gomes and Tr.Juela Goes with their family. The campfire programme was compèred by Guide Callie Rodrigues, Guide Afiya Sheikh and Guide Astrea Fernandes and it was a great success, ended with a motivational speech by Fr. Carson Dourado. The scouts and guides worked unitedly with their patrol members and enthusiastically participated in all the activities.
The champions of the camp was Marigold patrol and similarly Master Faizal Sayed was awarded as the best scout and miss Ayesha Sheikh as the best guide of the camp for their voluntary services. This two-days camp was very fruitful and it did create lasting memories in the life of the scouts and guides.
