'The junk food should be banned' 

A debate was organised in the auditorium of Our Lady of Fatima High School Rivona on 8 November 2025 under the guidance of Tr. Felix Oliveira between the two groups of the debators. The topic of the debate was 'Junk food should be banned' and the students spoke 'for' and 'against' the topic, respectively. The convener of the debate was Tr. Flossie Gomes and the moderator was Tr. Felix Oliveira. The debate activity began with the explanation of the meaning about the same and an act of welcome to the convener and the debators. There were healthy arguments and discussions about the topic, for and against, under the guidance and control of the moderator, on the stage. 

At the end of the debate, the convener concluded saying that there should be our choice over the junk food and healthy food as we cannot eliminate the same completely from our life. Certainly, we must give first preference to our health by choosing to eat healthy food. She also said that we could avoid processed and junk food as much as possible in our day today life to have a healthy life style because health is wealth. Dimpy Gaikwad, a student of class 9 presented the Power Point presentation on the topic ‘Good Nutrition for Students’ to teach the students about the significance and intake of right nutrition. Fr. Milagres Fernandes also spoke on the importance of healthy eating habits. Indeed, the debate enabled the students to think deeply on the topic. The debate activity was concluded with giving away of prizes to students and a vote of thanks to everyone for the cooperation.
