National Deworming Day 2025

National Deworming Day was observed in Our Lady of Fatima High School Rivona on 10 September 2025, under the guidance of Tr. Juela Goes, during the school assembly. The students explained about the importance of deworming and taking care of health carefully. They also performed an act to explain about the negative effects of worms in stomach and told how to protect oneself from the same. Deworming day's importance lies in improving the health, nutrition, and overall quality of life for children by reducing intestinal worm infections which can cause anemia, malnutrition and impaired development.

Government of Goa has been keen on looking after the health welfare of Goan students through the cooperation of the teachers in Schools. Tr. Juela, as a Coordinator for Health Welfare in the school and a link between Primary Health Centre Quepem and the School, she distributes iron and deworming tablets to the students every month. So, the Parents/Guardians are requested to encourage the students to take the tablets regularly and co-operate with the teachers and government in all the health matters. Fr. Milagres Fernandes spoke on the importance of health saying that health is everything. If there is no health with us, having wealth is useless in life. So, health is wealth.
