Raksha Bandhan Celebration 2025

Our Lady of Fatima High School Rivona observed the Raksha Bandhan Day on 09 August 2025, to show its importance to the students in the context today. The festival focuses on a deep relationship of love for a brother with an deep idea of protection and security towards his sister. To portray this concept, the school assembly of the day was conducted, explaining the importance of the festival, tieing of rakhi(s), performing contextual dance and telling about the historical situation, under the guidance of Tr. Prachi Amonkar. Fr. Milagres Fernandes also spoke on the importance of maintaining a healthy relationship between a sister and brother. The learning outcome from this activity is, 'A strong relationship of love comes with a strong commitment of security.' 

The festival comes up with two words, namely "Raksha" and "Bandhan." According to the Sanskrit terminology, the festival means "the tie of bond or knot of protection" where "Raksha" stands for the protection and "Bandhan" signifies the tie of bond between a brother and sister.
