Vande Mataram, Our National Song

According to the directives of the Education Board of Goa, Our Lady of Fatima High School Rivona, organised a special assembly of the students on 24 January 2025 to sing complete "Vande Mataram" in celebration of 150 years of our National Song. Tr. Felix Furtado was nominated as a coordinator of the event. A explanation about the importance of singing the song was given and all the students and teachers sang the song with due respect. 

This year, the National Song Vande Mataram is completing 150 years of its birth which was written by Shri Bankin Chandra Chattopadhyay on 7th November 1875. On 24th January 1950, the first President of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad declared Vande Mataram as the National Song of India and this year it has completed 75 years of its declaration.  

To commemorate 150 years of the National Song, Vivekanand Kendra Kanyakumari, Goa Branch has decided to organise various activities across the state including singing of the National Song, Drama, Exhibition, Seminars etc.
