Empowering Minds, Transforming Lives 

'Empowering Minds, Transforming Lives' is the academic theme for the year 2024-2025. Moulding the minds of the students is transforming their live. The students need guidance to mould their character.  So, let us try to understand the meaning of the above term in short.

Empowering Minds:

Mind is a powerful part of the human body from where all the energy comes from. The school has a responsibility to make the minds of the students powerful through the idea of empowerment. The school imparts knowledge and many practical activities to form the minds of the students through critical thinking. In other words, the school also tries to form a good belief system that is life giving of the students because belief system is the only thing that controls our words and behavior. The education that is imparted to the students, we believe, has two fold purpose of education like Character Building and Career Building. So, it is through education, along with good activities that we can empower the minds of the students today. 

Transforming Lives:

A transformation in life can take place only when students are convinced about the importance life values and accept these ideas with whole heart and mind. It is the combination of knowledge and experience too that enables the students to get convinced about the life values and its importance and learning to accept the life giving ideas. Change happens in time and space, and it also needs patience. It is like planting a sapling and giving time to grow and waiting for the fruits to appear. So, we need to nurture the plant and see that it does not bend down and fall. Similarly, we need to nurture our students with patience in training them and their minds in different ways and methods.

Therefore, in order to empower the young minds of the students, a need for quality education with life giving values and examples is must. If this thing happens, then we can make a change from within, in all the responsible students of our the school. So, let us be the change that we want to see through an empowerment of the students and certainly, together we can make a difference in their life.

Teachers Day was celebrated in Our Lady of Fatima High School Rivona on 6 September 2025 under the leadership of class 10th, guided by Tr. Eleryn Fernandes. The day started with the Eucharistic Prayer, praying for management and staff of the school. After the refreshment, the stage programme began with a warm welcome to the teachers and staff. There were different items in the programme such as welcome song, dance, singing, comedy act, on the spot prizes, speeches and gift distribution to the teachers. Fr. Richard Crasto received an 'Teaching Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award 2025' and so Tr. Felix Furtado 'Radhkrishnan Visionary Mentor Award'. The Manager and Headmaster of the school appreciated the teachers for their selfless service to the school.

Farewell to Tenth Students 2026

Farewell programme was organised for the students of class 10th in Our Lady of Fatima High School Rivona on 31 January 2026, under the guidance of Tr. Socie Dias, the class teacher of class 9th, along with the class students.  The day began with a Eucharistic Celebration followed by the stage programme. The manager and Headmaster Incharge gave the students meaningful messages through their speeches. They stressed on students being good human persons in future to come.  The items of the programme like welcome song, dances, acting, comedy, songs, prize distribution, memories display, giving token of love to students and so on. The day was concluded with the expression of gratitude and sharing of snacks  among the teachers and students.

Patriotic Singing Competition 2025, interclass, under junior and senior catagory, was organised, under the leadership of Tr. Flossie Gomes, on 14 August 2025, in the auditorium of Our Lady of Fatima High School Rivona. All the students took part in the singing actively, with the introductions to the songs, acting and other creativity.  The Chief Guest of the occasion was Sr. Leena Nazareth who gave a message saying that the patriotic singing is the heart beat and breath of our life in the nation with its sacrifices and history. A patriotic dance was also performed to entertain the students and teachers on the occasion. Patriotic slogans were raised in the auditorium classwise, loudly after the singing.  In the junior catagory, class VII (7) were the winners of the competition whereas in senior catagory, class IX (9). The runners up of the junior category were class V (5) whereas in senior catagory class VIII (8). The competition was concluded with a vote of thanks.  ...
